NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPERTY TAXES

Bruce Township of Chippewa County, Michigan Residents

The Bruce Township Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed property tax millage rate to be levied in 2025.

Date: Wednesday, September 24, 2025
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Bruce Township Hall, 3156 E. 12 Mile Road, Dafter, MI 49724

This hearing is being held in accordance with Michigan’s Truth in Taxation requirements under MCL 211.24e, to ensure transparency in the township’s budgeting and tax levy process.

There is no proposed increase in the property tax millage rate for 2025. The millage rate to be levied will not exceed the rate levied in the prior year, and no additional operating revenue beyond the previous year’s levy is being requested.

All interested residents are encouraged to attend and participate. Public comments and questions will be welcomed.

Bruce Township Master Plan

Date: July 16, 2025

Bruce Township is developing a new Master Plan. As required by the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, Act 33 of 2008, notification is being sent to adjacent townships, Chippewa County and EUP Regional Planning and Development.

In accordance with the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, the community intends to transmit draft and final copies of their Master Plan electronically via email/website. If your organization does not have the ability to receive the plan by email, a link will be provided to the website to download the Plan. Because this method has been chosen in order to minimize the expense of preparing and mailing copies of the plan, we are hopeful communities and stakeholders will accept the plan in electronic format.

Please complete the following form and return it to Bruce Township c/o EUP Regional Planning by mail or email to staff@eup-planning.org. Copies of the Master Plan and all correspondence related to preparation of the plan will be sent electronically. Please select your Community’s preference:

Please take notice that the Bruce Township Board will hold a Work Session on:

Notice: Public Accuracy Testing for the upcoming Special Election

The Public Accuracy Testing for the upcoming Special Election is scheduled on July 22, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. in the Bruce Township Hall, located at 3058 E. 12 Mile Road in Dafter, Michigan.

The Special Election is on August 5, 2025.

The Public Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate the accuracy of the Tabulator used to Count and Record the votes cast at the Election and meets the requirements of the law.
