NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bruce Township Planning Commission
will hold a Public Hearing on the following:

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment on a proposed update
to the Bruce Township Floodplain Management Ordinance.
The proposed ordinance amends township regulations to adopt and enforce the
Floodplain Management provisions of the Michigan State Construction Code,
including Appendix G of the Michigan Building Code, and to formally adopt updated
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and
Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Bruce Township of Chippewa County.
These updates are required for the Township to remain in compliance with state and
federal floodplain management standards and to maintain participation in the
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Continued participation in the NFIP ensures
that federally backed flood insurance remains available to township residents and
property owners, and that eligibility for certain types of federal disaster assistance
is preserved.
All interested persons are invited to attend and provide comments.
