Meeting Minutes
September 6, 2005

Members present: J. Fischer, Bret Gardella, L. Little, L. MacDonald, B. Osborne, C. Person, M. Schmidt. Also present: Supervisor D. Gallagher and S. Esch resident.
Absent: C. Marsh

Meeting called to order at 7:04 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance

Agenda approved with the deletion of item #7-Proposed Special Land Use-D. Justin/B. Burton as the request was cancelled.

Minutes of 9 August 2005 regular meeting unanimous approval after motion by B. Osborne, 2nd by L.Little.

No Public comment.

Zoning Administrator reported 55 requests to date which is up from the 46 of last year. There is a request from Amerigas Propane Company for a storage facility on M-129 and 7 Mile which was not received in time for the appropriate public notices. More information is needed for the request to be processed and the ZA will inform the applicants.

Chairperson comments:
1) A public meeting is scheduled for 20 September 2005 to present the results of the survey sent out to residents this past summer. The proposed Master Plan Goals and Policies will also be presented.
2.) Chairman, Supervisor and Zoning Administrator are re-working the permit and decision forms for clarity and format.
3.) Chairman advised the minutes are the official record of the meetings and care needs to be taken that final copies are placed with the Clerk and Zoning Administrator.

Review of draft #3 of proposed changes to the Zoning Ordinance. Discussion followed. Chairman would like to act on the changes in October after review by the Township Board and after the Public Hearing. The proposed Master Plan initial direction will be presented to the public with a meeting on 20 September 2005. Copies of the questionnaire and survey results will be available to the public with the vision statement and the proposed goals and policies of the Master Plan. The population level of the Township is approaching the State requirement for open space protection to be included in the Zoning Ordinance. More information is being gathered from the EUP Regional Planning Commission.
