Review of 10 November 2009 work session: brief discussion of request by Township Board to
return Special Land Use approval to the Township Board.
No public comments:
Zoning Administrator: To date 39 permits have been issued for construction in the Township. It
is understood that the U.S. Government through Grant Communications will be erecting
a 250 foot communications tower on property on 10 Mile and Riverside.
Chairperson report: none
Commissioner’s report: C. Person gave a summary of the Township Law 101 class presented by
MTA in Gaylord. Very informative session.
It was requested that the Secretary copy the section on duties of the Planning
Commission as described in the MTA publication Authorities and Responsibilities of Township Officials, Board and Commissions for the interest of each Commissioner.

Public Comments: none
Discussion was begun on the needed changes in the form of amendments to the current zoning
ordinance to be presented to the Township Board for approval. Also discussed were
potential changes to the fee schedule for permit and Special Meeting fees.
The Planning Commission needs to appoint a representative is to serve as a member of the
Zoning Board of Appeals.
Discussion topics were tabled until next meeting date as more information and preparation was needed before making decisions.
Next meeting is scheduled for 12 January 2010. At that time officers will be elected for the coming year and the yearly meeting schedule will be established.
