Call To Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairperson C. Person .

Pledge Of Allegiance
T he pledge of allegiance was led by Chairperson C. Person

Approval Of Agenda
  After the Commission reviewed the agenda the agenda was approved

Approval of August 12, 2008 minutes
Dan Rogers moved to accept the minutes.  John Hillock seconded and the Commission cast a unanimous ballot.

Public Comments
Several residents came forth to share their concerns  about the gravel pit on 15 Mile.  Mike Pins will look into these concerns.  These concerns will go before the Township Board at the next meeting.

Zoning Administrator
M. Pins presented a lengthy  list of building permits that were issued. He also stated that Bruce Township has surpassed the last 2 years of permits.  He also stated that Homeland Security  is exploring the area for a site to house a 300 foot communication tower for their use.

Chairperson Comments
C. Person read  from the Michigan Township Association Planning and Zoning.  The zoning ordinance zoning principles and purposes which she thought might help the new Committee members better understand a little bit more of their job/duties

Commissioner Comments
M. Mitchell stated that she thought we should be going through the Zoning Ordinances as she had some question on some of the ordinances and she thought the rest of the new commissioners had some also.  L. Little also stated she thought it was a good idea to keep going through  the rest of the ordinances and keep track of any questions and ideas that came up and the Commission would review these when they got  through all of the rest of the ordinances.

Continued Review Of Zoning Ordinances
The Commission picked up where they left off and continued  for a short time. The Presidential debates  were on and several of the Commissioners wanted to watch this important dialogue between the two candidates.

Meeting Adjourned
As there was no further business to come before the Commission L. Little moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 p.m.  D. Rogers seconded and the Commission cast a unanimous ballet

Next Meeting Date
Please note the next meeting will be held on November 11. 2008 at 7:00 p.m.  The location will be the Bruce Township Hall located on 12 Mile Road.
