Attendance

Member in attendance were J. Hillock, D. Rogers, L. Little, C. Person, M. Mitchell and C. Marsh and M. Pins and several Township members.

Call to Order

Chairperson C. Person called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance

Approval of the agenda

After the Commission reviewed the agenda and added two items the commission approved the agenda

Approval of Dec. 9, 2008 Meeting Minutes

With the change of an Addition of a seconded by J. Hillock. The Motion Made should read - Mr. Underhill would be allowed to keep his temporary fence up until 6-1-09. The top layer of the existing fence will be removed on or before that date. Motion presented by D. Rogers seconded by J. Hillock. Commission cast a unanimous ballot. See Dec. 9, 2008 meeting minutes.

Election of Officers

D. Rogers moved to nominate M. Mitchell as chairperson J. Hillock seconded and the Commission cast a unanimous ballot and elected M. Mitchell as Chairperson

D. Rogers moved to nominate J. Hillock as Vice Chairperson M. Mitchell seconded and the Commission cast a unanimous ballot and elected J. Hillock as Vice Chairperson.

M. Mitchell moved to nominate C. Person as Secretary L. Little seconded and the Commission cast a unanimous ballot and elected C. Person as the Secretary

C. Person will run this meeting with M. Mitchell taking over for following meetings.

Meeting Dates

The first Tues. after the first Thurs. at 7:00 p.m. will be followed for the 2009 year unless there is no business to come before the Commission on any of the following months.

Feb. 10, March 10, April 7, May 12, June 9, July 7, Aug 11, Sept. 8, Oct. 6, Nov. 10, Dec 8

M. Mitchell moved to keep dates and time as listed J. Hillock seconded and the Commission cast a unanimous ballot

Zoning Administrator

M. Pins had no business to report at this time.

Chairperson Report

C. Person stated that the Commission had forgotten to fill out a Decision Document on the Underhill ruling. C. Person will take care of this.

Commission Report

None at this time.

Public Comments

Township residents living near the pit on 15 mile still have some worries and concerns. One resident stated that they have had their water tested they thought that it might be in the best interest of residents who lived near the pit to have their water tested to have a base line test.

There was discussion on additional regulations to the Gravel Pit Ordinance. The Commission will review some suggested regulation and discuss these at the Feb. meeting. This will give the Commission an additional month to review this material to see if they feel it might fit in with the Township philosophy while trying to protect the residents and also the gravel pit business in our Township.

Adjourn

With no more business to come before the Commission D. Rogers moved to adjourn the meeting L. Little seconded and the Commission adjourned at 9:05 p.m.

Next Meeting Date

The next meeting will be Feb. 10, 2009 at 7:00 p.m., the location will be at the Bruce Township Hall on 12 Mile Road.
